Things that can be done with a name card

A name card is different from a business card. As name suggests, it only carries the name of person or organization. There are no contact details or mention of the product or services which the organization makes. You might think that it would be of very limited use to the people as compared to business card. While the latter can be used as a way of introducing yourself, what can a name card achieve? Well, there are many different uses to which this can be put. Some of these are:

1. Introduction: There are people whom you might not want to disclose your contact details. This could be due to the reason of confidentiality or you fear that the person might disturb you again and again or simply because the person has no business knowing the contact details. For that purpose, if you have only the business card in your pocket, then you might be hesitant to give it. Instead, having a name card can save the embarrassment.

2. Allows writing of details which you want to give. With only the name printed, there is much of space left which can be filled in manually. To some extent, this provides some flexibility in usage of the space. For people whom you need to give the contact details, you can get custom rubber stamps made and use these on the name card. This way both the objectives can be met.

3. Use these as privilege cards: For customer who show up at your place more often, you can give these to them for using these as privilege cards. These become special cards which can be used by guests to avail special treatment.

4. Use these as discount coupons: If you want to announce special scheme to a limited number of people and not to the public at large, then you can use these as discount coupons.

5. Referral cards: With your name on the card, you can easily send the person to some contact of yours. This card will act as a proof of identity that you have referred him to that person.

6. Sent along with gift items: If you want to wish someone on his or her special day, by giving a gift item, say mouse mats or a bouquet of flowers, then dropping in a name card along with the gifted article is desirable so that the person knows who has sent it. These can also be made out in the form of stickers for getting these affixed on gift products. This enables them to remain at one place unless removed. Alternatively, you can have the name card as glued custom stickers.

 Therefore, there are many ways in which these cards are used. Since only names are written, it provides ample scope and flexibility of using these in these ways and for different purposes. Their use is not limited to advertising and marketing purposes only. It can even be for introduction and announcements.
